Each child is completely unique, and it is impossible to give an answer to this question!
Some children learn faster than others and do take to the water quicker. Other children do take longer for a variety of reasons. The regularity and consistency with which you bring your child to lessons does also play a big part.
The learn2swim lessons are 20 minutes. This does not sound like a long time, but it is more than ample, especially as the lessons are one on one with the teacher. It is both very physically demanding, as well as requiring a lot on concentration and effort from your child! The squad lessons (for children familiar with all 4 strokes) are 30min classes, as these are small groups with the teacher outside the pool coaching.
However challenging you think your child is being, the teachers have experienced many difficult situations and have been successful. Let your child develop a bond and learn to trust their teacher, they are qualified, and experienced with all levels. Don’t get involved in the lesson; rather step out of line of sight so that you are not taking your child’s attention away from their teacher. Let them build a trusting bond. We want our kids to love having lessons with us as much as you want them to be enjoying them.
You can pay via EFT or Cash. We do not have Credit Card facilities.
Lessons that are missed or cancelled are considered forfeited.
As we work on a very tight schedule, make up lessons tend to be tricky. It is unfortunate that children get sick and have unforeseen commitments that interfere with lessons. But our teachers make a commitment to be at the pool and need to earn their salary accordingly. Fees are still payable for lessons missed.
PLEASE ADIVSE US SOONEST BEFORE THEIR LESSON.
HOWEVER – in the same breath, I do also TRY make up lessons where possible, should you provide me with a doctors certificate. Cancellations needs to be done soonest if you are not bringing your child. It is only by parents notifying me in advance, that allows me the possibility of slotting a make-up in. It is your responsibility to follow up on possible make up lessons. The opportunity for makes ups is mostly at short notice, so keep swim stuff in the car
Our teachers have made a commitment to their teaching days.
However, it is important to remember that they also sometimes need to cancel. We make sure that when a teacher is off, that our stand in teachers are correctly & properly briefed to continue where your teacher left off.
